Royal Ascot: Ladies Day 2015

Ladies Day at Royal Ascot 2015

Last Thursday I attended Ladies Day at the Royal Ascot which I was kindly invited to by Search Laboratories and Sky Bet. I have always wanted to go to the races because it seems like such a fun day out, and I love horses so seeing them at their full strength competing like that was always something I wanted to do (although saying that, I always feel bad for the horses after the race as they look exhausted).
The Silver Ring was packed with picnics and tables stocked up on champagne and wine, and we were incredibly lucky as the sun was shining! Saying that, by the end of the day it was all a bit much and everyone got sunburnt even after putting suncream on.
We were all very excited as most of the girls I went there with haven't betted before and I haven't had much luck in the lottery so I didn't have high hopes. We installed the Sky Bet app on our phones before attending and all had £10 to spend at the races. I have to say, unfortunately I was the only one who's app didn't work - although I could log into my account fine, it wouldn't recognise my license as a form of ID so I couldn't bet! Which really sucked as I was keen to try and turn my £10 into a little bit of profit! However, Hayley from The Glasgow Girl won something like £70 which was amazing!

George at ASDA kindly offered for me to pick an outfit for the races which was an absolute godsend as I really had nothing to wear! I went for a classic lace dress with effective details like the low back and a split skirt which I think add a bit of racy glamour to the outfit. I absolutely fell in love with the shoes which sparkle in the light - they're my Cinderella shoes! They were so comfortable and at the end of the day I didn't have any blisters which is just amazing. At first I thought the bag may be a little too big as I was hoping to take a clutch with me, however it was just perfect as I could fit everything I needed in there.
I decided that as I have quite a classic dress, I can really make a statement with my fascinator/hat so I went for the biggest hat I could find in the store! I absolutely love this piece from Hat Box at Debenhams - it was worth the money as the scorching sun would have burnt my face if I didn't have this to cover up with. Saying that, I still got ridiculously sunburnt.

I had an amazing day at The Royal Ascots Ladies Day and would definitely go again next year! It's such an amazing event to see all the ladies dressed up in their amazing hats, and the horses were stunning - you could hear them coming when they ran past our enclosure as the ground literally shook! Some top tips would be to ensure you have suncream slathered on and keep topping it up; drink a lot of water through the day; and bring a pare of flat shoes as you will really need them at the end of the day.

Thank you so much Search Labs and Sky Bet for inviting me on this amazing day, and thank you George at ASDA for inspiring me with an amazing outfit to wear - it's simply #GeorgeousRacewear!
