I was also pleasantly surprised that the brand is bringing out party wear pieces like sequinned skirts and dresses which look absolutely gorgeous and really comfortable to wear. That's what I love about the brand - Superdy items are durable, comfortable and now there's a range which allows you to wear Superdry not only on casual days, but also on occasions. I love my classic joggers and fur hood gillet - they're my go to items for cosy Winter days! But it's great to see that I can now pick up pieces like the sequin skirt which I can dress up or down, like shown on the mannequin. I also noticed a lot of tailoring in the latest collections, especially in coats and jackets, which is brilliant as Superdry outerwear is so fantastic for Winter but I thought it was always too casual to wear to meetings and office days, so I'll be sure to pick up a tailored coat for AW15.
There is a lot of attention to detail which goes into the pieces: I noticed that womens beanies had very subtle but gorgeous diamante embellishment; on seemingly plain items you could always rely on a printed strap or appliqué to make it stand out in the crowd, and I loved the mix of sequin and wool patterns on the skirts.
Some of my favourite pieces from the collection have been the shearling backpack (so much love for this!), the silver sequin skirt and the red biker jacket which I tried on for #MySuperdry - a competition Superdry are running and the attendee who wore the jacket best will win it, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
The event itself was fantastic - I met a lot of lovely people behind the Superdry brand, met some lovely bloggers including Plamena from Fashion Thrills and Jaime from Boy Meets Fashion and filled my tummy with delicious sliders, buttermilk chicken and champagne! I also had the veggie burgers which I think were filled with aubergine and were absolutely delicious so I'm going to try and recreate them at home.
I 'rediscovered' the brand, so to say, as I had a very specific view of the style and ethos behind Superdry but my eyes have been opened to a completely different side of it with a huge variety of style, and I think knowing the drivers of the brand helps get an understanding of the pieces and just how much thought and effort goes into bringing you incredible quality pieces with a fashion edge.
Do you shop at Superdry? What do you think of the brand? Has this post changed your opinion of the brand?
It was so lovely meeting you sweetheart! Can't wait to do it again :))
