The Launch Of Winchester Fashion Week 2019

The evening of April 29th marked the official opening of Winchester Fashion Week 2019 - the 9th annual fashion and style celebration in Winchester, Hampshire. The launch party was held at The Ivy Brasserie in Winchester and was packed full of fashion & style influencers from around the area, as well as Hampshire business stakeholders.

I have been aware of Winchester Fashion Week for a couple of years, but had no idea this style and shopping bonanza had quite the heritage! This year the organisers of #WFW19 Sarah and Hannah from Winchester BID have really put all efforts in to promote the festival - and they did a fab job as the festival has quickly gained buzz around the Hampshire area. The 6 day event is a great way to bring local businesses together with some exciting collaborations, interesting presentations and to showcase all things new on offer in Winchester, whilst building subjects like sustainability, local charity and the city’s circular economy into the proceedings.

The Ivy Brasserie in Winchester is perhaps the most stylish of eateries in the area - you can always count on them for Instagram worthy backgrounds, food, and cocktails. We have visited The Ivy for dinner and also their famous breakfast/brunch - each meal was amazing. You can read a review of The Ivy in Winchester here. Their events room which is where the launch of Winchester Fashion Week was held is a beautiful space filled with Art Deco pictures, decor, and mirrors. As well as a glass of fizz, canapés were served and they were divine: truffle arancini, panko prawns with matcha dip, truffle dipped asparagus, polenta cubes, and fishcakes were floating about ready to be snapped up.

I managed to catch up with many friends and Instagrammers, as well as influencers I have wanted to chat for ages - what can be better than chatting fashion with a glass of prosecco in hand?
