Vintage clothing is so popular now that I feel like it's actually more valued than designer labels - it feels more impressive and thrifty and cool to say that you're wearing a genuine 60's dress than Prada. Vintage clothing ranges in prices with some pieces costing pennies for an absolute gem, to thousands of pounds for spectacular pieces.
I like vintage clothing because I feel like it comes with a story which you can make up, or sometimes the seller can actually tell you a little bit about the piece. I was very lucky that I took a few beautiful items from my mum before she took them to a charity shop, and I thought I would do a mini vintage lookbook for you guys if you wanted to get some inspiration on how to wear vintage clothing this summer!
OUTFIT 1
what i'm wearing: vintage white lace set (was my mums when she was very young) // scarf worn as a headband Inherited Grace Vintage // shoes Topshop
This is probably my favourite outfit of this lookbook - I love this white lace two piece, it's so summery and crisp! I have taken this off my mum years ago and I wear it pretty much every summer. It's also great deconstructed - sometimes I use the top to wear with a jumpsuit or as a summer jacket, and the skirt looks great dressed up or down!
This time I chose to inject a some colour into the outfit with a vintage green chain printed scarf which I wore as a headband, red shoes and a pop of red lipstick - perfect outfit for a casual weekend in the countryside!
what i'm wearing: vintage floral dress (was my mums in the 90's) // floral crown Topshop // boots* Shoe Zone
I absolutely love this dress - I wear it all the time in most seasons (except winter maybe, but I have done with chunky knitwear and cable knit tights before) this was another piece my mum gave me. I think it's from the 80's/90's and when I first got the dress it had huge shoulder pads but I removed them because I didn't feel the dress shape benefitted from them in any way. I also placed the black ribbon you see running down the middle - originally it had a white shoelace kid of cord running through it.
I love this dress styled with tough boots - it's kind of grunge and reminds me of Courtney Love's style which was huge in the 90's.
OUTFIT 3
what i'm wearing: vintage leather bomber jacket from the 80's Xanadu in Hastings // dress* Lidl // shoes Topshop // sunglasses Primark
My last outfit is my latest purchase from a weekend away in Hastings (you can read about it here) - an 80's white leather jacket I found in the cutest vintage store. If I had some more time in there, I reckon I would have walked out with bags full of stuff!
I love this jacket because it goes with pretty much everything, and I can just throw it on with a t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans for an immediate style transformation.
cute looks! My fave is the second one, especially the headpiece!

Great outfits, they all look really nice on you! Love the locations too. The only vintage thing I own is a pair of Levi's 501 jeans and a dress my grandma made but I can't wear it. Would be fun to visit an actual vintage shop.
