I was recently looking around for a new brand to fall in love with when a friend of mine gave me some Clarins testers she got from a makeup artist on one of her modelling shoots. I tried a matte foundation that I really loved and found out later that it's been discontinued. My little heart was broken until I saw the new Clarins Ever Matte Foundation which is very similar to the one I tried, so I placed it on a wish list in my head. When I got contacted by Clarins to try out the foundation I was over the moon! I would have loved to wear the Ever Matte Foundation over Christmas, and I was really skeptical about it being the same as the old matte foundation. 

I tried out the foundation as soon as I received it, the scent is the first thing which attracted me to the product. It smells very fresh - almost like cucumber and watermelons - one of my favourite scents! The foundation is brilliant because you can build it up, the first layer gives you a natural look with a matte finish, but you're ready to go for an evening out after two coats. You only need a tiny amount for a coat (I'm wearing one in the picture), so the foundation will last a long time. It stays matte for the whole day, perhaps a top up of powder before your evening out but I'm very impressed! I have combination skin, so some days my skin can go quite oily and I do struggle to find a foundation which will keep my skin looking close to perfect all day. 

With the combination of moisture and a matte finish, the Clarins Ever Matte Foundation works wonders on my skin. I'm very impressed with the quality of Clarins and their products do exactly what they say on the box.
